Personal Travel // Paris, France - Summer 2025
So we decided that we didn’t want another summer of patchwork expensive summer camps mixed with kids at home just fighting and whining at us about being bored and that now that we are both self-employed and able to plan our work schedules, we decided to lug our three kids to Europe for the summer. We had no idea how it would go but it was one of the best decisions we’ve made and want to do it every summer now! In our area, summer can be a somewhat slower time for family sessions as many of my clients save their once-a-year sessions for the Fall so once we decided to make this trip happen I announced to all of my clients that I wouldn’t be available locally in June or July and instead I just had a busy spring and then I’m coming up on a busy Fall - basically no business lost for me as far as I can tell but a HUGE step forward in my personal sanity during the summer and getting to give our kids experiences I’ve always dreamed of for them.
My husband was able to work (albeit at some strange hours) remotely on his ongoing projects for Habit Design Collective while we were away and I got to have a true summer where I only checked my email a few times but otherwise all of the photos I shot were for my own personal satisfaction - entirely on film, just like I like it.
We started our first couple of weeks in Paris before heading on to Italy and Portugal which I’ll post in the next two blog posts!
All shot on Portra 400 or 800 film on the Contax 645, developed and scanned by The Find Lab.
